Proper update....
Seems I'm mostly posting memes, random thoughts and "Writers Block"s just lately, but I think I have sufficient actual news to do a proper update, in case anyone is interested.
I have the next week off work. Weather today has been glorious, yesterday it was terrible. Actually it was the same (slightly cooler perhaps, yesterday) but yesterday I was at work! Connie went outside this morning for her morning cigarette and called me outside. It was about 8:30 am and it was already HOT!
Connie said, "In St Louis, if it's like this before 9:00am, it is going to be unbearable later on!" Of course, this isn't St Louis. We are further north and a lot nearer the sea, but it still got blisteringly hot in the early afternoon!
I hope it continues.
Our camping trip is, sadly, on hold. The reason being that business has been extremely slow the last few months. Actually it has been better than last year, but my boss has over extended himself, IMHO. The week just gone was the best week we've had in a couple of months, but it's up and down like a whore on a trampoline!
Anyway, the boss calls me into his office yesterday before I go home and says that he's going to be having this same conversation with everyone in a meeting on Monday but as I'm not going to be there he needed to tell me now. Basically, if things don't pick up soon, there are going to be redundancies.
Now, strictly, it should be last in first out. Actually there is a part-timer who does the occasional Saturday, but I doubt she is costing them that much to pay. Earlier this year, they took on another guy to do the job I was originally supposed to do but wasn't considered good enough at. If FILO is adhered to, he should be the first one to go.
Except, of course, that he is doing the job I was hired to do, and I'm doing a job they created for me to do. Which, incidentally, doesn't give me enough to do so I spend half the time at the moment sitting around doing nothing!

I certainly do. So I have put my CV together today and posted it to a job search website. I'll jump before I'm pushed! The boss has asked me to think of ways to save the company money. Well, I've thought of one!
We have the barbecue fired up for the second time in as many days, too. Yesterday was BBQ pork stakes and potatoes done in foil with onions and garlic. Today it is beef kebabs.
My missus is, was, and always will be, the best!
