You guys are probably aware that I paint from time to time. My opinion of my art is that I forever surprise myself by how good it is! I'm a lot better at painting than I think I am, and I'm always amazed when paintings actually turn out the way I wanted them to!

This time, as someone already guessed (from the pencil lines visible under the washes) when I posted the half finished painting a few weeks ago, I have painted a picture of Stonehenge. Why? Because I wanted to. Also because it will make a great present for someone!

So, here is the original photograph that I was copying. It's one I took years ago when Connie came over for her first visit to the UK at Xmas 2004, and we did the tourist thing together.

Here is the part-done painting I've already posted:

And here is a scanned version of the finished item. Please note that my scanner is not big enough to contain the entire image.

Although the scanner gives the best quality image, it is not quite big enough, so I took a few photos, two with flash and one without.

So what do you guys think? Yet again, I've surprised myself by how well it came out!

I'm willing to take commissions, provided you accept that a) I'm not very good, b) My style is my own (sort-of impressionist), c) I do this in my own time because I work, and d) payment (if any) to be agreed in advance and paid on completion but before dispatch. Oh, I am also happy to do paintings of an "adult" nature if asked for, provided Connie agrees.
