I'm still trying to work out how "Global Warming" can cause a mini-ice-age.

See, they say the ice caps will melt and the excess fresh water so released will prevent the Gulf Stream from sinking down at it's Northern end, this stopping (or at least diverting) it. This, allegedly, will take away the warm waters that give North Western Europe our temperate climate.

This in turn will allegedly result in a rapid cooling of the North Atlantic.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but a rapid cooling of the North Atlantic will re-freeze the polar ice caps, reversing the effect of "Global Warming"...

Okay, get this scenario: The earth heats up, the atmosphere gets warmer. Warm air can hold more moisture than cold air resulting in more clouds. More clouds = less sunlight = lower temperatures. Couple this with the above information on the coming ice age (historical fact: Ice ages lower the sea level) and we have an interesting conclusion. More water vapour in the atmosphere must come from somewhere as there is only a finite amount of water on the planet. Hence we may in the end have a net lowering of the sea level, possibly making the channel tunnel obsolete!
