I read this, but not the book.

For me, the term "knight" has always had more of an aura around a person than actually a noble title, or a job qualification..

And yay for Waterstones offers. That & Borders are some of my favorite shopping places when I go to the UK !!!! :)

Maybe so, but knighthoods were not actually bestowed until the middle ages. Until then each king had a champion and warriors...

I've read the review, and I must say, it certainly makes the books seem appealing to me! Sadly I don't have much time to read and am currently attempting to finish 2 books before I can even think of starting another. (I still want to read the last book of Harry Potter lol!)

Cornwell is probably my favourite historical author. He also wrote a series set in the American Civil war, called The Starbuck Chronicles, and several other books and series, set in various segments of British history.
