I reward myself for getting deals. For some reason it's one of the little things that seems to work. So, on Thursday, I went on to
Amazon UK and ordered a CD I've wanted for ages: Jeff Wayne's rock opera version of H. G. Wells' classic "The War Of The Worlds".
This is the ONLY version of the book to ever use it's correct setting: Surrey, England in the early years of the 20th century. EVERY film ever made of the book sets it in the USA, and always set it "present day" - that being 1950s, 1970s, 1990s and early 21st Century.
It arrived Saturday morning, which I thought was pretty good!
Then today I went out and bought myself a reward for the deal I got on Saturday. I had trouble deciding what to buy myself. Eventually, I decided to get myself a nice set of paintbrushes. At my local art-supplies shop, for some reason they didn't have any real "sets" of brushes. They had selection packs with between three and six brushes in, but no pack with a "full range". I bought three packs, but I suggested to the shop that they suggest to the rep that they supply a set of around 18 brushes in a small box.
The brushes I've got are pretty good, I think. For anyone who's artistically minded and knows what they are, I bought the following:
Round: 2/0, 1, 2, 4, 6, 8
Glaze: ¼, ½, ¾
Flat: 1
Short Flat: 2
Filbert: 2, 4
Now, I'm not an expert, I'm not really an artist. I bought brushes that looked like a good range of sizes and shapes. If anyone would care to tell me what a "Filbert" brush is supposed to me used for, I'd appreciate it? *snigger*
