There's that song called Province on the new TV On The Radio album. It's great, my favourite thing on the album. But I never bothered to look at the names of the songs until just now, have been living with it for months too. I always thought the lead line in it was;
"Love is the promise of the brave."
And I thought that was one of the coolest, most amazing things I'd ever heard.
Turns out the name of the song is Province, you idiot. Love is the Province of the brave. Which is great too...but different.
I don't know how I feel about this revelation after becoming so attached to the song. I guess what's mine is mine and what's theirs is theirs. I can take whatever I want from it. And I guess I've just come to the conclusion that I will.
No need to correct me next time you see me warbling the wrong words along to some song, I guess.
