I don't normally post the 'how much weekend was' posts. I also find I really hate 'how was your day' conversations and 'what's wrong?"' questions whenever I don't have more than a couple of words to say.
Yeah, so nothing new there, huh folks? :P
BUT, this was a particularly nice weekend, and seeing as I shared a good part of it with a good part of you, here you iz:
Thursday night, Jill Sobule! Went thanks to
notshakespeare, who had an extra ticket. As before, she puts on a great show, very funny stories, very funny songs and generally an all around entertaining person.
Friday - went into town to relive my old Friday schedule. Got into town around one, parked near my old place and walked into center city. Dropped by the old office to discover that my old boss is the latest to leave. Can't say as I blame him, in fact, can't figure out why any of them stay. Got lunch (twice, once chinese, once sushi - both things harder to find out here in the burbs) and stopped by Dirty Franks. Had a few drinks, watched the Phillies score their eight points, then headed back to the Tib's for Second Friday. Shot da video, hung out, left WAAAAAAYYYY too late. Wasn't drunk, but so damn tired I was a serious threat to myself. Next time, don't repeat dat, take the invite to crash there.
Saturday. Woke up. Rolled over. Woke up again. Got ahold of
<"ladyandromeda", and agreed to meet at her place. Once there was joined by
cyan_fireflash and then it was off to Philly (third day in a row for me, woot) to check out the FairyCon. Not my thing, but it's something to geek on, so I can appreciate why folks enjoy it. Doesn't hurt that some of the ladies looked damn cute, and-or sexy, as fairies. If ya gonna people watch, do it at a con. Doesn't matter what kind of con, folks are just more interesting to watch when they geek together.
Yesterday and today - nada. Sat here, played on da 'puter and chilled. Well rested for a return to work tomorrow (Which, in case I ain't made it clear nuff yet, still lovin the job :))
Realization during all this: I'm really 'not looking' right now, and I was unaware of how much looking I was doing, while doing nothing, until Friday night. 'This' is so much better than 'that.'
