So I'm taking this African American Culture class...and I love it! But, you know, listening for an hour and a half about the way African American's we treated for the last...HUNDREDS of years...makes you kinda radical sometimes.
Who thought slavery was acceptable? Who thought getting different fountains, schools an restaurants for different races made any sense? Spraying non-violent protesters with high pressure water hoses? Would Jesus have been ok with that? And who thought attacking young Black kids with police dogs was MORALLY SOUND?????
The South was such a messed up place. Still kinda is if you talk to certain people. I love Texas today, but you'll have to excuse me if I'm not all in love with "The Noble South" and waving a Confederate Flag around.-_-
At least in college (and especially in this class because there are tons of African Americans in here), it's not like grade school where whenever the teacher started talking about slavery, everyone looked at me. Really guys? Yes I realize I'm the only Black person in here. Thanks. :/ :P
On a happier, less race related note, I'm suffering from FNL withdrawals. I. Need. More. Episodes!!!!!
