TIVO!!

Hey, does anyone here have TIVO and/or know how it works? Is it worth it? My parents are constantly recording stuff on VCRs and fighting with them and each other and drowning in VHS tapes (they don't even have a DVD player yet, except for the one on the laptop I bought for my mother last year). It would be nice to be able to eliminate that clutter, and also to skip commercials, etc... but if it is just a big mess then I will skip it. Just trying to think of something I can get them for Christmas that might help keep them from ANNOYING THE HELL OUT OF ME.

If that is not Christmas spirit, then I don't know what is.
