On Tuesday night after class (around 8:00pm) my car broke down. I waited for two hours to get my car towed to a repair shop I trust near where I work. It was fucking hot out so that was miserable. The next day I remembered the postcard I had received from Saturn telling me that there was a recall on my cars timing chain. I looked up the symptoms of a failed timing chain and it fit what had happened. The Saturn recall people said that I couldn't have the work done at my regular repair shop when I called them, and that I had to bring my car to one of their dealerships. So I called my shop and they hadn't began the work yet, but agreed that it was probably the timing chain. I had them tow the car to the nearest dealership at noon on Wednesday. Eventually I called them and they said that the timing chain had indeed broken and caused a ton of other problems with the engine which would have cost a couple thousand dollars to repair but because the problems were caused by the failure of the timing chain which was recalled they would do the work for FREE! They also had it completed by the end of that same day when the car was bought in! It actually cost more for the towing than it did for the repairs. I had them replace the serpentine belt while they had the engine apart so I didn't have to pay for labor. That cost me $27 and change. I will submit the towing bill to AAA and see if they give me some money back. I really have to learn more about auto mechanics.
Jaime and I did some landscaping and gardening today. We planted a bunch of cabbages, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, basil and two types of bell peppers. We had planted mint and cilantro earlier this year.
I got drunk off my ass Saturday night. Jaime and I went to a Mexican restaurant and split a picture of margaritas between the two of us.
I wrote a paper on confabulation for my psychology class.
