One thing I've been coming across lately is a lot of women are openly hostile towards the idea of traditional "female empowering" ideas being used for men. I overheard a classmate complaining about Disney's new Rapunzel movie, Tangled. Apparently the focus of the movie is on the prince, not the princess, and some of my peers were incredibly butthurt.
My question is: WHY THE FUCK DO YOU CARE?
There are about a billion movies out there targeted towards little girls. I should know. I watched a lot of princess movies when I was a kid. But there are no prince movies, if you don't count the Shrek franchise. Why is it so horrible to adapt a classic story to a different audience? Little girls already have Cinderella, Snow White, Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, and more recently, The Princess and the Frog. What do little boys have? Shrek. And Mulan, because I've never met a kid (male or female) who didn't like Mulan.
People, please. Bitching about this just makes you come off as a butthurt misandrist who hates the fact that men exist. Sorry honey, but the world doesn't work that way. We don't live on Venus, and if you can't deal with that, then please get out of my gender. Women have enough problems without you bitching about stupid things like a goddamn movie.
