if you made all-state, it would be the best friggin' week ever.

and honestly, i've been around some of the trombone players at state. you remind me of them. mucho talented and intensely devoted. like....you're the ultimate band geek. you belong there in that mass migration of band directors and music dorks.

you already know your music better than i do-i think you have an amazing chance of making state. of course you can't control the circumstances-but man, if anyone could do it, you could.

so yes. make it. then we'll hang out in san antonio together and i can show you where to go listen to some really nice jazz. ;)
