Me, on the radio, on Sunday!
Yes, the BBC have asked me back, the misguided fools!* After the deafening chorus of “Actually, that wasn’t bad for a beginner” which greeted my first attempt at presenting a live radio show a few weeks ago, I will be guest-hosting BBC INTRODUCING: THE SOUTH (in Phil Jackson’s absence) for an extended five-week run, between 7pm-9pm on Sun 10th Oct, Sun 17th Oct, Sun 24th Oct, Sun 31st Oct, Sun 7th Nov… by the end of which I fully expect either to have been appointed Director General of the BBC, or done a Russell Brand and disgraced myself, no half-measures.

This week, SUNDAY 17th OCTOBER, we’ve got Brighton-based, 40s-meets-50s, swing-meets-rockabilly band THE BLACK GARDENIAS in session in the Live Lounge (imagine The Cramps fronted by The Andrews Sisters if you want a cheesy comparison), I’ll be discussing the apparent crisis in the Brighton live music scene after a series of venue closures with two local experts, we’ll be paying tribute to the late, great soul legend General Johnson, and there’ll be music from Vile Imbeciles, Drawings, The Meow Meows, Stars And Sons, Englane, Bang Bang Machine, Sweet Sweet Lies, ASBO Retards and Chairmen Of The Board among others, as well as general ramblings and increasingly stupid weather reports.
