*STAY BEAUTIFUL meets SPELLBOUND at the BIZARRE BALL in MANCHESTER!

Hey people, super-exciting news: Bizarre, "the world's #1 alternative mag", has asked our own SIMON PRICE and CHERRY FOXXX to host a room at the BIZARRE MAGAZINE BALL in MANCHESTER! It's happening at THE RITZ on Whitworth St on FRIDAY 22nd OCTOBER (8pm-2am), tickets £16.50 advance (£13.50 students/subscribers), full details here: http://bit.ly/68nG10 And to give some of you sexy Northerners a rare chance to find out what we're all about (without needing to trek the length of Britain), we're gonna be playing the greatest hits of BOTH our clubs with a special 'STAY BEAUTIFUL Vs SPELLBOUND' duelling-decks set. Full details below, but in short, that means dirrty Glam/Trash/Punk versus awesome Alternative 80s sounds.

*DO YOU SUFFER FROM MENTAL?*
Other attractions for your delectation on the night will include a raw and rockin' live set from horrorpunk/gothabilly heroes THE EIGHTIES MATCHBOX B-LINE DISASTER plus Sheffield synth/mathcore band ROLO TOMASSI, macabre thrills and spills from CIRCUS OF HORRORS, as well as DJ Frankie D of Club Noir/Electrogogo and, of course, plenty of cabaret/burlesque/freaks & geeks (although the best entertainment of all is bound to be the spectacularly-attired audience itself!). Now, if you're unfamiliar with either half of our momentous turntable soundclash, read on...

*WE‘RE A MESS OF EYELINER AND SPRAYPAINT...*

Currently on hiatus but coming up for its 10th anniversary, STAY BEAUTIFUL is the legendary London club night founded by Manics biographer Simon Price as a nocturnal home for The Beautiful People, delivering drunken fun to a dressed-up crowd of flamboyant freaks under the slogan “Luring disco dollies to a life of vice…” Policy: Music to show off to, i.e. glam, punk, trash, sleazy rock’n’roll and shouty grrrl music (think Bowie, Placebo, Manics, Hole, Pistols, Cramps, Suede, Iggy, Manson, Roxy, Goldfrapp, Dresden Dolls, Lady Gaga, Patrick Wolf, New York Dolls, Peaches, Mindless Self Indulgence, Guns N‘ Roses, Le Tigre…)

*FOLLOWING THE FOOTSTEPS OF A RAGDOLL DANCE, YOU ARE ENTRANCED...*

With the motto "The 80s night for people who HATE 80s nights!", Brighton club SPELLBOUND is a hugely-popular antidote to all the cheesy, kitschy, ironic 80s nights out there. Spellbound plays the REAL good stuff from music's greatest-ever era (time span approx 1979-1985, with Tubeway Army on Top Of The Pops as its Year Zero and the Live Aid concert as its Doomsday). Policy: alternative 80s, i.e. post-punk, goth, new romantic, new wave, electro-pop, gender benders, early indie, 2 tone ska etc, meaning NO Wham!, Madonna, Jacko or Jovi, but LOADS of Siouxsie, Specials, Smiths, Sisters, Soft Cell, Stray Cats, Spandau, Sputnik, Strawberry Switchblade... and that's just the eSSes!
