It always seems to be late at night when they have these conversations, Simon thinks as he starts up the steps to the bridge. The simple explanation for that is the obvious one: it's easier to find relative privacy when half the crew's gone to bed, or at least retired to their bunks ( Read more... )

Mal hasn't retired to his bunk.

He is however halfway buried under a blanket. The bridge can get cold, sometimes.

He moves further into the room, rests his hand on the back of the co-pilot's chair.
