Tonight, I was reminded why I don't read anything on FFN anymore...
I wanted some Ikarishipping goodness, so I went on The Pit looking for it. Oh silly me, how I have not learned...
Half the fics are high school AU, which is not bad in itself, but very few people pull off the high school setting well enough. Hell, I barely do. We won't talk about my foray into HSAU. The other half involve Ash and/or Brock forcing Paul and Dawn to travel together, because that's IC. Oh yes, Ash would sooo want his chimchar's abusive old trainer following them around. Were Paul to, for some reason, travel with the group, I'm sure Ash and Brock would kill him before any romance with Dawn could happen.
Beyond that, it seems the authors on FFN have never learned to spell or learn how to grammar properly. TITLES ARE CAPITALIZED, DAMN IT. IF YOU CAN'T GET THAT DOWN, YOU SHOULD FIRST LOOK INTO AN ENGLISH TEXTBOOK.
Then there's the summaries. Dear gods. I know that most of the time, summaries on FFN tend to suck ("I suck at summaries, R&R plz") but still. I just. I can't.
