Snow Legacy 2-1
LAST TIME: Bastian Black ended up in riverview and changed her last name to Snow. She met two handsome men. The amazing and sexy Sidney Storms (visionofvim) and a sweeter less dangerous boy named Josh. She spent a night with both of them, got a promotion at work, and celebrated a little too hard. The next day she woke up with what she assumed was a hangover.
Not feeling well Bastian decided to skip work and head to the one person who always made her feel better.
Josh was probably inside with hot food and a big smile. That was all she wanted on days like this.
Josh: hey Bastian! I missed you. What's up?
bastian: Little hung over I think. I got a promotion at work!
Once inside Josh doted on her like she wanted.
Josh: If your sick we should just hang out in bed until I have to go to work. Don't worry, I'll cover for you.
She couldn't stay there once he left though. It was weird being alone in his house. She headed to the watering hole for a drink. A little hair of the dog that bit her would make her feel better.
Theo: Should someone in your condition be drinking?
bastian: My condition? It's just a hangover. I already feel better.
Theo: Girl, that's not a hang over! You've got a bun in the oven!
bastian: What? I'm not baking anything
Theo: ... you're pregnant.
bastian: What? No way! Who even are you? Go away.
She couldn't shake the feeling though that this nosy woman was right. She skipped the drink and headed to the library to do some homework.
bastian: ... definitely pregnant. Damn't!
This new found responsibility made her think. She wasn't even entirely sure who the father was. She was sure that she had to be honest with at least Josh. She hadn't made anyone any promises, but he had done a lot for her, she owed him at least honesty.
bastian: Listen Josh ... we need to talk
Josh: What's going on?
bastian: I did something ... it wasn't even wrong really, but I've got to tell you.
bastian: I slept with Sidney Storms ... right after you and I hooked up.
Josh: Wait ... what?
Josh: I can't believe ... I really liked you Bastian!
bastian: I like you too Josh! It's not like we're dating just ... stop yelling ok.
Josh: This is bullshit, I'm leaving Bastian. Call me when you get your act together!
The next morning Bastian resolved to just that. For better or worse, she wasn't in this alone anymore. She had a baby quickly on it's way.
It was time to get her act together.
Starting with one of the most important decisions a pregnant girl could make.
bastian: Ice cream, you're my best friend.
Time passed and the soon to be baby grew. Bastian read everything she could about parenting. She wanted to call her mom, but she was back in Apaloosa Plains, there wasn't much she could do.
She still went to the watering hole, but only for onion rings now. She saw Josh's roommates a lot, but never him.
Dezzy: He misses you, you should come over.
Bastian: He doesn't want to see me
Dezzy: Whatever
She went over anyway, even if he didn't want to see her. She missed his smiling face.
Josh: Bastian ... you look different.
Bastian: Yeah uh ... didn't get to tell you the other day, what with everything else.
They went inside and Josh started his games. Not really acknowledging her, but not ignoring her either.
Bastian: Listen Josh, I'm sorry.
Josh: You didn't do anything. You were right, you didn't make me any promises or anything. It just ... it stung Bastian.
Bastian: I didn't want to hurt you.
Josh: Do you think it's mine?
Bastian: Maybe, I don't really know.
That night when her water broke though, she knew.
Bastian: I'm going to the hospital, I think you should come.
Sidney: You could have told me, you know.
Bastian: I wasn't sure you'd care.
Sidney: Let's just get you and Ares home.
Sidney: You have to keep me in the loop now Bastian. Ares is my son. I want to be involved.
Bastian: I promise I will! The test said he's both Evil and a Genius, so he's going to need a father's influence.
Sidney was happy to oblige, little Ares didn't seem so evil to him.
Bastian was happy to have Sidney back around. She had missed him and his taste for rebellion, just like her.
She never made anyone any promises though.
Josh: Is he supposed to cry like that
Bastian: Yeah, the books all said it was normal
Josh: Hey little guy, you're not so bad, are you?
Bastian didn't mind motherhood. She loved Ares more than she had ever loved anyone else. He was her sun and stars.
Well ... most of the time.
Bastian: Why wont you sleep?
Eventually she had to go back to work though. She left him with the babysitter, though the girls kind of vacant stare was worrying.
Bastian: Ares ... good luck.
He survived! Long enough to have his birthday alone in the dark while his mother worked.
He didn't mind though, a gift from his dad came. Blocks and a peg box and he was happy ... ish.
Ares: Bend to my will peg box!
Bastian tried to balance her dreams with being a mother.
She was only kind of successful.
Bastian: Your dad wants to be involved, maybe he can watch you while I get some peace and quiet.
Ares: Soon mother, soon I will venture out into the world and conquer it! You will see!
Sidney: Hey! It's two of my favorite people.
Ares: So you're the father!
Sidney: Look out Ares! The Claw is coming for you!
Ares: Claw? What witchcraft is this! Is my father a warlock?
Sidney: Tickle Tickle Tickle!
Ares: ah! this is no magic! It is delightful though
Sidney: Whose daddy's big boy?
Ares Well played sir, well played
Bastian: You're really amazing with him you know? He never smiles that much for me.
Ares was a happy child though. Sure someday he would rise to conquer the world, but today he was happy to conquer the toy box.
During her visit Sidney had told her that the bank stored something called 'lifetime happiness points'. It was something everyone in riverview earned. That day she found out she had enough to collect a fat inheritance. She used it to fix up their little shack into something better for her and Ares.
Josh: You finished the house! It looks amazing
Bastian: So do you
old habits die hard.
Josh: This is all you ever want to do with me
Bastian: If you're complaining ...
Bastian: Listen, I have a kid ok. I don't have a lot of time to put into a relationship. All of my free time is for Ares.
He was growing like a weed. Soon it was time for him to grow up again. Bastian missed it, again.
Ares: Mother! I have conquered speech and become self sufficient!I feel like I might like to find some adventure! Let's celebrate with ice cream.
Bastian: Butter Pecan or Mint Chocolate Chip?
Ares: Soon everyone will bow before Ares Snow. Now that I can speak and walk and use the toilet, there's no stopping me!

Ares has rolled so far. Evil, Genius, and Adventurer. He definitely has Sidney's coloring, but his eyecolor belongs to Bastian's father.
