Mnemonics - 5 Recolours of a Skinset
I offered to release these after I saw spyroeldragon's post on Tumblr about needing more dark tones, and so I've spent the last day or so polishing them up to sharing-standard. I made them because I felt exactly the same way as her; one dark tone was not enough! There are other skinsets out there that I could've used to fulfill my need, but Nilou's Memories are my one true love. About the name - well, a mnemonic [ne-mon-nik] is something that is 'intended to assist the memory' - which is exactly what these do to Nilou's memories! Nifty, huh? :)
First up; skintone 1 of 3 dark ones. I call this one - wait for it - Dark. Wow. In fact, all the dark tones have really boring names. For ease's sake this was the case while I was making them, and I intended to eventually give them smexy names like 'smoky topaz' etc. but 'dark, darker and darkest' kinda just stuck. Feel free to change them!
This is Darker. A note about all skintones bar this one; they were created from running a pale tone through Trapping's lifesaving actions. Darker however was born from me playing with sliders.
And this is Darkest - my absolute favourite. Some eyebrows/makeup may look a bit odd on it. I'm not going to lie, it does have some pixelation. If you think it's really bad, will you drop me a comment down below? I'd like to know if I should spend more time on it.
So there ends the dark tones. I only told Spryo about those but I made two other recolours (using Trapping's actions as you know) and I thought I might as well throw them in too.
Derived from the action Olive Skin, but I mentally dubbed it and eventually ended up calling it Oyster.
Ghostly. Not much different from Nilou's Pale.
And there we have it! This was meant to be a quick post, but looking back now I realise I may have overdone it.
A note about all skintones: they're not actually recolours of the originals, but of the super-smart edit by suaper who made the nosemask part of the skin. All are geneticized and townified, and are semi-barbie. Swatch in the download.
Some of the models here are Sims by jesstheex and alleluia (please excuse the ugly red lines around the tiny icons, if you can see them. It's hopefully a temporary thing).
