It seems it is time for me to disappear from the polls on The Real LJ Idol.  Votes for me in this coming poll won’t matter as I am bowing out.  Hopefully it will help someone else move on to next week.

I have enjoyed this season and wish you all the best.  Thanks especially to Gary for all the time and energy he puts into LJ Idol.

Aw, sorry to see you leaving. Too much real-life stuff going on?

There's also the notion that 29 (more like 30-31) weeks is a long time to be enslaved to a writing competition. I'm sure all the veterans especially thought it would be over sooner, since the other ones were likely shorter.

I don't remember how long each season has been, but since each has gotten more people signing up, it would make sense that the seasons get longer, unless Gary were to do a HUGE cut at any given time, which he tends to not do.

Once I get booted, I tend to stop counting the weeks as much, LOL. :)

This is my first one, but I know it had the most people at the start, so I'd assumed the other ones were much shorter. Even (in the earliest days) perhaps reasonable. :0

That I did, for various reasons, not least of which is that I just enjoy Idol. The following season wasn't nearly as long and Gary had said it wouldn't be, but he seems to be saying that this one's going to rival it in length, which is a bit of an eye opener. There's a good reason they say it's a marathon, not a sprint!
