Good evening, Friends List!

Dec 27, 2008 21:34

I hope you all had wondrous holidays and got at least one awesome present. I got several, including a programmable coffee pot that's going to live in my room and a camera that I have been using nonstop (taking pictures of myself when there are no better subjects, anyone interested in tormenting me in their game if I choose to use said pictures to ( Read more... )

I'm not on your friends list but I'm going to comment because I'm daring!

Personally, I definitely view it as a limited thing. You could make races if you edit facial proportions enough, because otherwise they wouldn't look like the ethnicity you're trying to create. But then it's limited because The Sims doesn't have tons and tons and tons of facial options... so unless you're skilled enough to edit them perfectly from scratch, there are only a few types of actually proper race-looking people! (Oh god I'm terrible with words.) The genetics thing is flawed, too. If you make a black guy and a white woman have a child, they could be like you said - black with blonde hair and etc! It's possible to have races, I suppose. The creation process is wide, so it depends on the effort you have when creating your first breeders. I don't know if this makes any sense to you or not, but it does to me! ;_;

I'm looking forward to the university update, by the way. I wonder how long it will take for you to suicide.

*waves hand* You count! I shall not ostracize you because of your decision to not be on my FL.

It makes sense to me, too! I mean, I guess with geneticized skins (which I have never used and I have no idea how they work) you could end up with something more natural being passed down, but... it still doesn't make up for the times when you will get a genetic impossibility! And yeah, I personally enjoy trying to edit facial features from scratch, but if it's a Maxis generated Sim it's not going to be that way. The only way to have a Sim with a particular race is by making them.

I got all the YA makeovers done and that was stressful enough! Actually playing it is going to be crazy.

(This reply may be late, and it's totally because of nothing silly like, say, forgetting my password. Nope. Certainly not.) Also, I'm on dialup for a few days, so I can't view any new updates, which kills me. -sob- But! Aww. I'd be on your FL but I'm shy about asking such things ( ... )

Shyness is understandable. I am plagued with it myself. ^_^ I'd be pleased to be friended though, if you'd like.

Yeah, that's kind of what I was afraid of. You'd not be able to marry anyone in, you'd have to make all the Sims yourself. And then if you wanted to do it in a legacy you'd have to townify them. And that's just a pain, really.

Dude, I cheated my ass off after the first semester. I'm not even ashamed of it... and I totally get it with the dial-up. So glad I had an excuse to cut out of the family visit early. :-p Don't worry about large comments. As I said before, I like them because it gives me plenty of excuse to babble in return.

This is where I'd make a joke about shy sims but I think that's a little too geeky. But hooray! I'll add you as a friend. :D

Yeah, that'd be frustrating, I think. I tried making my first actual-face-and-not-a-lame-default yesterday and messed up and gave him no chin, so um. I don't think I'm cut out for including race in my game.

Oh man, I would be COMPLETELY AMAZED if you went through it normally. I have a mod that makes each semester only last a couple of days so I don't have to stab myself in the face every time I have to go to uni. D: And, hooray, my internet is back, so like the little stalker I am, I'm going to read updates! Awesome! Yeah! Alright.
