A Difference in the Family Tree - Gen 1.0

This is nervewracking. I'm starting to post on LJ again with sims. Like..no tumblr with fast pictures and throwaway comments at the bottom. I'm proper terrified of doing this and the update is small because I suck at knowing when to take pictures. I've decided to do the A Difference in the Family Tree challenge to make my game a little more exciting. Each gen does a different thing, you can read about it at the post I linked to but for our purposes Gen 1's challenge is as follows:

Generation 1: "Your family was always into the farming deal. They spent their days working hard and asked for their children to do the same. So when you turned 18, your parents surprised you with your own plot of land to continue on tradition. And having always been one to want to impress the folks. You begin creating your own small garden, dedicating your time to that rather then dealing with a dreadful 9-to-5 suit and tie job."

- Get a gold gardening (or flower arranging) skill badge if you have the required EPs. (Seasons for gardening, OFB for flower arranging)
- Have a garden containing each type of plant/Make every type of flower arrangement
- Get married, no premarital woohoo
- Have a boy & a girl

Optional:
- Catch every type of fish
- Max the nature hobby
- Marry a sim whose predestined hobby is nature, or marry a gardener

Note: The other thing I'm adding is that while she looks like a plantsim, she's not a true one in game and will only earn that right when her goals are finished! And it's written in letters to her parents, and each letter is added to over the course of a "month' before its sent that way it makes sense that she's updating them as time passes.

Dear Mom and Pa,
Hey it's Bea. I don't know how long it'll take the portal to send this letter to the Glade but I just wanted
you guys to know I made it to the mundane realm alright. The farm you rented me has bees! I love
the honey cakes you make mom. Maybe I can try to make some if you send me the recipe? I checked on
them to make sure they're alright. They're so noisy and I don't really know how to talk to animals
without dad's fae magic. It was so much easier living in the Glade with you guys...

I found some fertilizer by the front door that the owner left me. He didn't leave a note or anything about any rules so I'm just going to treat this place like my permanent home. I tried to tend the land like you taught me. It was pretty hard work and I was practically starving by the end of it. I took some of the honeycomb out of one of the hives and had myself a meal. I guess the owner was looking out for me after all. I hope the food grows pretty soon or I'm going to have to try to scrounge together some simoleans for food.

Over all, my week was pretty hard. Every day I felt like showering was a chore. My arms and legs ache so much. Is this what mundane sims have to deal with? How do they even cope? I hope I can prove I have what it takes to the Council. I want to be home with you as soon as I can. I've never dealt with the level of exhaustion i'm dealing with on the farm. I wish I was a real platsim like you mom, or even a fairy like pa. Magic makes things a hundred times easier.

The loneliness is getting to me though. This small house with just me and the plants. Sometimes I swear there's someone else here with me, and other times I end up talking to myself. These little episodes scare me a lot so I try to occupy my mind with pursuing the science of the mundane sims. It's all really interesting but watching the stars is what I like the most. The farm is coming along after a couple weeks. My tomato plants should be coming in soon. I hope they're edible enough to make salad or sell them. I don't want to make any sim sick from my lack of "magic touch".

I met someone. Her name is Mabel Baldwin (by verakas ) and she's beautiful. She's the most beautiful sim I've ever seen. She has lovely brown skin that reminds me of the calming oak trees surround the glade at home, and her eyes are doe-like. I wish I could really describe her but she's just too wonderful for words. I feel like I'm doubly attracted to her if that makes any sense. She loves discussing the farm with me and she's pretty glad she met me. I really want someone to share my home with and..a family. I want to make you guys proud of me and become the plantsim I always knew I could be. I hope she likes me.

You guys will never believe this! She reciprocated my feelings! I don't know what to do or say but I hope she wants to be my wife. I'm getting too far ahead of myself but Pa could you make a potion for me that would allow us to have children? If I were magic it would make no difference but mundane sims don't reproduce asexually or with no gender restrictions. I hope next month I'll get to send you news of our wedding or better yet, a child!

I'll write to you soon.

Love,
               Bea ♥
