Resolutions

New year's resolutions time!

Last year, my resolutions were 1) find a job, and 2) write a fan fiction story. I did both, so, Mission Accomplished! *hangs banner from aircraft carrier*

2015 New Year's Resolutions

Fitness

1. Run two out-of-state half marathons as part of my 50 states goal. California is already on schedule for January; I'll have to see what other one I can find (and afford) this summer or fall. Maine would be nice...but Louisiana is closer.

2. Maintain a daily yoga habit. I have the mat; I have great DVDs; I got yoga socks for Christmas. I just have to get a habit going.

Financial

1. Save enough money for a down payment on a new (used) car by summer. This is a better resolution than just "stick to my budget". My poor car is on its last legs, and I burned through my savings while I was job hunting. But if I have a concrete goal, it'll be easier to stick to my grocery budget and stop spending money on clothes that I don't need. Hopefully my car will make it until June...

Learning

1. Read one new book per month. I've been really slacking on my reading lately; I think I only read a handful of new books this past year. Also, good motivation to get out to the city library.

2. Learn a foreign language well enough to have a basic conversation with a native speaker. I'm going to do Spanish. French or Chinese would be more fun, but I still remember a bit of Spanish from high school, and I live in Texas, where I'm exposed to Spanish more than any other language. So that makes the most sense. I signed up at http://www.duolingo.com - it's free, and sends out daily reminders to learn vocabulary and practice phrases. Good for forming a learning habit.

Life

1. Stay organized. You'd think that having only lived in this apartment for six months, it would be clean and organized. But I moved a bunch of stuff not knowing exactly how it would fit in the new place, and then haven't spent any time actually getting things organized. My closets and kitchen are a mess. I'm following along with Apartment Therapy's January Cure - hopefully that will help kick start things.

Anyway, that's what I have for now. What are your resolutions?
