Ender's Game
I finally watched Ender's Game this afternoon. I really had no idea what to expect based on the previews, and - I liked it! I had one minor problem with the ending (Ender cheering, and the adults being stony-faced; it should have been the adults cheering, and Ender being frustrated and pissed that they weren't upset with him); but aside from that...yeah, it was good.
The visual effects were great, and they did a really nice job of cleaning up the major problems with the book (the homophobia, racism, misogyny, antisemitism; you know, the small stuff /sarcasm). Ender was still white and blue-eyed, but, well, it's Hollywood. At least he wasn't blond.
I wish they had left in the Peter and Valentine Take Over the World plot, but alas, there was no time to squeeze it in. And I wanted Moar Battleroom.
Anyway - good movie, worth watching.
