school update
Just wanted to update y'all on how I was doing in school.
Children's Lit is going great. The typicallness of the education majors still bothers me, but this woman and I met everyday before class (at 4ish) and go over notes and stuff. Looks like I have someone to do group work with -- a big worry of mine. We had our first test last week, adn I was worried, because this isn't an Education class, but an "English" class, so essays are big on her way of testing. The test was one part true/false, one part matching, and essay. I made a 93. So far I have an "A"
Spanish is going well, also. During labs, I do the workbook activities, and found that while doing the listening activities, I really don't have to repeat things (but I can also do this at home online), so I listne very intently on words that I know, as well as things I have trouble pronouncing. We had out first test tonight. Part of it she did orally (calling out numbers and question which we had to write the number she was giving or answer the question in Spanish). I think I did okay. Last week (hmmmm or the week before) I told her (in espanol) that I was pregnant, so now whenever she goes around the room to ask "Como esta's?" she will also ask about the baby. Tonight, when she was handing out test papers, I was the only person sitting on my row, so she counts "Uno y le bebe -- dos" She's funny. Oh we also had a paragraph tonight that we had to translate, we didn't have to translate it EXACTLY, but she wanted to see how much we understood, I kicked butt on that thing.
