Gay/Trans/Androgyny...it may not be the same, but you're a very bad person
In simsecret , secret #20 sparked a huge debate when an anonymouse posted the following comment:
I totally agree. I can't be the only one who's sick to death of this effeminate/androgyny crap that's springing up everywhere. It would seem that if you want male sims in the game, you've either got the choice of the steroid-pumped testosterone freaks or female sims who have sprouted dicks.
Incredible.
And with that, a shitstorm erupted.
silenzii , aka danicast at GoS called anonymouse a "biggot" [sic] and a "homophobe," saying, "unfortunately, no, you´re not alone, the world is still filled with biggots." Anonymouse lashes out, saying, "Don't try that shit with me. I am far from being bigoted and homophobic, so take those accusations somewhere else." Another anonymouse (supposedly) pipes up, saying, "You're the one who is stereotyping homosexual men. Why is it that people think that just because a man is gay, he wants to be overly feminine?" And that sparks a long thread about sexuality v. personality.
without_pith , however, is deeply offended by the remark as well, but she offers a better argument than calling names. I* tried to defend the remark by offering another example, but it didn't really go. I also try to clarify on what I thought anonymous said, and I call attention to the great barren wasteland that is male clothing.
esperesa aka Yuxi explains why she does such conversions:
I see. I fulfill many of these FtM requests. Why? I like helping out, no-one else seems to have the time to do them, there's a large group of folks who *do* like it (but this point is probably what bugs you most; it's the reigning aesthetic in the Asian communities, for example), it only takes me a few hours now, among other things. They don't always fit my own playing style, but that's okay. Just as it's okay to dislike 'em :).
I assure her that it's not her, it's the incessant asking for requests that most people have issue with.
Meanwhile, at GoS, the thread at SimSecret takes a different turn, discussing what danicast said at LJ. Danicast tries to defend herself, saying that her assistant and her son were cryiing over the secrets, but jenfold (mod incarnate) says:
Actually this explaination make no sense to me because LJ has time stamps you say your assistant cried and cried for hours over a comment before you replied this comment was posted at 3.05am.
You posted a reply to it at 3.09am Four minutes later.
Indeed the secrets post didn't even go up until just before the f irst comment was posted at 1.19am. which doesn't even make it multiple hours before you made that really random accusation. Can you tell us a better made up story that excuses you randomly calling people homophobic bigots please.
