that's a lot of links! but there was a lot of shit going wrong with this week's post. Some of the mods there DO need to chill a LOT and remember what we were taught in preschool - just because someone hits you, it doesn't mean it's okay to hit back.

I think they should have polled the comm about it first. Mistakes happen, and hindsight is 20/20, but the attitude coming out of some of the mods (and not just from this week) is not acceptable, IMO.

It was, and there could have been a million more, had I been so inclined, LOL. This shit was all over the place. I just don't understand why they want to make so much more work for themselves! It's a control issue.

I just can't find it in myself to care about the secrets anymore.. Although I do read them. For the record, I don't think you were snotty.

I think that comm will dry up and blow away soon. It will splinter into different secret secret comms and forums the way the sims community has done in the past.

Somebody already made another community, but it's from an anon user (basically) and it's got some really stupid name like, not_sim_sekrit or something. I personally like SimSsecret, lol.

I agree with you. No live people, no size violations, no TOS violations, otherwise, go. I may not *like* the bitchery, but big deal. The bird and horse stuff was a PITA, and I was annoyed by the load time, but big deal. I don't get the stuff about frankensimming and the GOS stuff, but I am a big girl and I can SCROLL PAST stuff that bores me.

What is driving me crazy is the entirely arbitrary decisions of what IS a secret and what ISN'T. Johnny/Ripp isn't a secret (and has nothing to do with the Sims, evidently) but some whinetard's emoting about fat is? Pffft.

If SimSecret is as boring as it was this week, people will stop reading it. If the mods continue being this restrictive, people will stop submitting stuff. Then everyone else will stop reading it. Congratulations, you have "your" community back.

Yes! It's the arbitrariness that is driving me nuts as well, and what has prompted me to be so much more vocal. If there had at least been some sort of warning or poll or discussion or SOMETHING that would be good. And not a screened discussion, either, a public one!

From what I can tell, submission of secrets was already down this week. When people saw that Hidden_Kitten was on a rampage, they just didn't submit secrets they would have otherwise. Why bother when you're just going to get some snide comment about it not being correct?

Hell, fandom secrets does a post like our weekly post EVERY SINGLE DAY and they don't seem to have any problem with it!
