I have about 40 slides written, about 15 with pictures, but I'm thinking of scrapping a majority of it. The problem is that there is a lot I have to cover in the final chapter, and it seems like a lot of it is birthdays, which is coming across as rather boring and chops up the flow of things
( ... )
I don't mind either way on the birthdays. But if a ton of birthdays have to happen and it is making it hard for YOU to write then you can just gloss it with "With such a large family it seems like the Dorans were always celebrating one birthday or another. And each time they had a great party inviting neighbors and friends." Then do a combo slide of everyone growing up and move on.
Sounds like you are playing your turn in the RR the way I played mine. I had to play everyone through before I knew what was going to happen. Makes for a much different experience from those who have very detailed outlines but I think it works just as well.
Maybe Eugenia is quiet in class but as soon as you start talking with her she opens up. Or she's really nice and everyone likes hanging out with her even if they don't play loud rowdy games...
Anyway, feel free to ignore all of the above. I'm just trying to help get your creative juices flowing! *hugs* You can do it! *\o/*
I agree with Pen about the birthdays. They are a vital part of a legacy, but having to write one after the other gets boring and difficult. I like the idea of a combo slide as Pen mentions, but at the end of the day, you need to do what you are comfortable with and works best for you and the story you're telling.
Keep with it Annie, I'm sure it'll be great, even if you do miss your deadline by a few days.
I'm at the point with writing where I'm swinging wildly between being pleased with my progress and hating every word I've written. I have to keep reminding myself that this is my first draft; it's about getting my ideas down more than having a finished chapter. I'm going to be going back and editing it for language before shooting, and again once I've got my pictures.
It's not helped by the fact that I'm back at work this week, and I'm not feeling much like writing in the evening. Luckily, the next couple of scenes I've already written drabbles for, so I can cut them up to use as the basis of them. The scene after I've also started getting some ideas down on paper, so hopefully once I start looking at it more closely, I'll get something usable out of those ideas.
All in all I am making progress, but my shooting script seems a long way from a finished chapter at the moment.
I wanted to finish all the playing I needed to in week one and write this week. But as I have mentioned numerous times in my own journal, as well as on boolprop, my game is crashing on community lots making it impossible to finish playing in the family business. I finally got tired of just trying to work around it, so for the past three days all my simming time has been dedictated to the 50/50 method of sorting through files to try the conflict.
I have a number of scenes from my next chapter running through my head. I just need to get them down on paper/in word. At this point, I will be pleased to somehow finish one chapter before the end of february. Finishing two as I had originally intended looks not likely...

Week 2 is not shaping up to be nearly as productive but I'm hoping to get further on it over the weekend.
