As I said in this week's prompt post, we've come a full year with our Weekly Challenge. It's been an amazing year seeing all the amazing responses we've gotten for our randomly picked prompts.
Ndainye threw together the first list and tossed it my way. I pulled our first couple of prompts from that list, but then decided to refine it. We had it set up with three word groups - events/occasions, emotions, and Sims things. I pulled out duplicated words and tried to flesh out the various categories and then numbered each category. When it came time to pull a new prompt, I would either go to a random number generator (yay for being a
D&D nerd) or I'd just grab three friends online and say "Give me a number between 1 and..." For the most part, this worked really well. There were only a couple of times where I started over (once because the prompt screamed PORN and once because it was too close to one we'd already had) .
Why am I telling you all this? Well, it's time to reboot our prompt lists and I want your help for that. You've seen
all the prompts we've had so you have an idea of the type of things the list was populated with. While I could just take the old list and reshuffle it so to speak, I'd rather get input from everyone who's participated or watched to find out the type of things you'd all like to see.
Here again are the categories of words/phrases we're looking for:
EVENTS AND OCCASIONS
This one can be anything as long as it can be concisely expressed in one or two words. Don't worry about whether or not you think it can be done in the Sims2. The point is to challenge everyone to stretch a little and maybe think outside the box.
EMOTIONS
This one's easy. I'm especially looking input on any emotions we haven't already used.
SIM RELATED THINGS
This is the tricky category. With this one, we've tried to pull things in from the game but not make it so specific that everyone has to use or have the same thing. We used aspirations, interests, creatures, and more. What else do you think we should add to this list?
That's it! Let us know what you'd like to see showing up in the list. Remember to clarify which category you're suggesting words for. I'll be compiling this past week's prompts late tonight after work and I'll get up a new prompt, but I'll be working on refining the rebooted list all week long, so keep your ideas coming!
And, as a last note, thank you everyone for your wonderful support of the community over the past year. Ndainye and I may be the ones running it, but your involvement is what has made it successful.
