My calves have been slaughtered

I went back to work today. That all went fine -despite a month's absence I got right back into the routine, remembered my password, and had only minor issues to deal with (where are the keys!?).

After work I went to salsa. I'm at the beginning of level four, which is not too tricky yet, but not so many people take the classes this far. Tonight there was one other guy and three girls. By contrast, the level one class immediately afterwards has about 10-12 guys and maybe 16 girls.

Because level one is really easy stuff that I know backwards and they're short on gentlemen, Daniella asks me to stay back and even out the numbers. It's simple and fun stuff; tonight they revised turns and cross-body leads. All that some of the girls need is a strong lead to take them through it a few times and they'll have the move down, so it's fun to help.

But that's still two and a half hours of dancing in total, on top of a day spent on my feet. Oh my legs... I kinda shuffled home like Yoda. It felt pretty fine to get undressed and get horizontal! Clearly I need to get my stamina back. :P

It certainly makes me miss having a girlfriend to cluck sympathetically and massage my sore calf muscles. Most of the rest I can live without for awhile, but having my hand patted when I'm feeling sorry for myself is just one thing I can't manage solo!
