Scientists believe it is airborne and the CDC has issued warnings for people to take precautions when going out into public places. Thus far, there have been a total of 20 deaths worldwide. Vice President Cheng: … experts at the CDC conducting tests. Unfortunately, it appears that aliens and humans are becoming sick. It’s very similar to the virus that stuck aliens months ago in Strangetown. We are confident that when we begin moving, we’ll have medicine in place. Nebleb switched off the television and leaned back on the sofa. Everyone else in the room shook their heads in disbelief.
Themis: This is all Loki’s doing. This was his wish to profit from the virus.
Min: Do you think this time we’re immune? Most of us got sick the first go around. We need to acquire the cure and stop Loki.
Vlad: Neo is right, these humans have no concern for others. When given their hearts desires they still seek evil. All of the Strangetown 7 should face judgement.
Min: I hate to agree, but I didn’t originally sense danger from Ophelia. She was just a girl seeking love but now she’s seeking to rewrite time itself. I think if any of them gain access to her time machine, we’re in big trouble. If Loki or even Jill used the machine, they could wipe out all alien races on Earth. It must be destroyed.

At Akasha’s interruption, they all turned to stare at her. She’d been unusually quiet the past few weeks. She hadn’t revealed to them that Vidcund had taken her eggs to create babies. It was a private violation that Akasha wanted to keep to herself.

They all ceased talking when the front door opened.
Hela: Neo is on his way.
The assembled aliens cleared their minds and grabbed box of Chinese food so as to appear that they were not discussing things without Neo. They knew from this day forward that everything about the mission and the Earth would change.

THEY: Connect us to your leaders.
Ursa: Yes, of course.
HIM and HER appeared on the screen and kneeled to show reverence.
THEY: How is the mission progressing?
HER: The mission leader, Neo, is becoming a risk. Otherwise, he reports that things are on target. The 7 of Strangetown are still corrupt. Neo has suggested breaking them down at this point.
THEY: The final chain of events has begun and we have contacted others that are doing our will on Earth. If they do not submit tell Neo to kill them as planned by December. They must not live past the year-end.
HIM: Divine ones, Neo has reported that Ophelia managed to make it to the moon base. The assassin assigned to her was unable to go. Neo said they lost communications with Ophelia days ago.
Silence was the only reply received. HIM and HER looked at each other wondering if revealing this information was a mistake. They’d been very honest the entire time with regard to Neo’s reports and thought it was best to pass on this information.
THEY: This has confirmed what we believe to be an attack on our plans for humanity. We will deal with that situation promptly. Continue to alert us.
Before receiving a reply, the screen was shut down. Lights flickered on in a small room where the beings that were called “THEY” spoke to each other.
Void: It is the one from the future?
Closed: We haven’t been able to locate her, but it is only a matter of time before we find her point of reentry to our time.
XVI: She must die.
Void: We can have no more resistance. The machine has been built and successfully run in 2039. The future is secure.
01100: To maintain the confidence of the others, we must continue the guise of trying to save the 7 of Strangetown. This time period is crucial to our survival.
One by one, they exited the room preparing to locate the woman that could destroy their past, present, and future.

Lazlo: Are you sure about this? Anything could go wrong. What would happen to your son if something happened to you? How can I tell him that his father returned to Earth and didn’t come see him?
Pascal: I will return to the space station just as quietly as I came. You and the others will be leaving the planet soon anyway.
Lazlo: I hope you know what you’re doing. You say you just want answers, but I think you want revenge. What if you end up killing him because of what you believe has happened to Circe? I could be considered an accessory.
Pascal: Well, first little brother, I need you to get a grip. Second, from what you told me about Akasha’s situation, Vidcund can provide you with something to wipe your memory. So don’t concern yourself with my plans for Loki I’ve made my decision and plan to follow through.
Lazlo: I hope you’re right. I am not going to be some man’s bitch in jail.
Pascal smiled and followed Lazlo to the car. As they neared his tan sedan, a woman slowly approached them.
Themis: Mr. Pascal Curious, I know what you want and how to help you.
Pascal: Excuse me?
Lazlo: I’m seeing black and white stripes already.
Themis: Don’t worry, you aren’t in any trouble. My name is Themis Khensu and we definitely have a vested interest in taking down Loki Beaker. I can help you do it. Here’s my card with my contact information. Time is of the essence. Think it over and when you’re ready to hear what I have to say, give me a call. You won’t be disappointed.
Pascal and Lazlo watched Themis walk away. Pascal stuck the card in his pocket and followed Lazlo to the car. Once inside, curiosity began to pull at Pascal. He pulled out the card and flipped it over and over in his hands.
Lazlo: This almost seems too good to be true. Are you going to call her?
Pascal: Maybe.
Could this lady provide the answers he needed? Would you help him seek revenge? His entire mission was to find Loki and make him pay for what he’d done to Circe. As Lazlo drove out of the lot, Pascal made a decision to not wait, he wanted to hear what Themis had to say.
