Living with grandparents came in handy in terms of child care. Both Ian and Gretchen spent a lot of time teaching the twins the basic skills.
Alice was hugely pregnant again, so her parent's help was much appreciated.
At least this time it was just one baby - Maryanne
Brandon and Bethany, obviously fraternal twins but totally adorable.
Now that there were three kids to support, Alec finally got a job as a police lieutenant.
And was promptly demoted once they found out who his father-in-law was. Poor Alec.
Alice seemed a little perturbed that Maryanne's first word was Daddy and not Mommy.
She asked advice from old college chum and fellow mother, Grace Vijyakar who recommended a good little league for the older kids.
Oh, by the way honey, I'm pregnant again!
Ian's death came as a surprise to everyone, most of all Ian who was seeing how some new fencing would look when an dark specter started creeping in from the back yard.
Alice felt so guilty, she was sure her father had died because with a new baby on the way there wouldn't be enough room in the house. Gretchen assured her that wasn't the case (though the way Alice had contributed to her dream of six grandkids - Gretchen would have told her anything she wanted!)
