Fingolfin + new member
Hi! I joined this community fairly recently, although I used to be rather active in Silmfics several years ago. My old (and Quite Godawfully Bad) fics can be found here. I suppose I fell out of fandom after going to college (last two years of high school, for the Americans amongst us), and, ahem, finding shiny new fandoms. Admittedly I've kept up with LotR fic, but Silmfic not so much. I started reading Silmfic again recently, and it's interesting to note that my character/pairing preferences haven't quite changed...
I was pleased to see that Fingolfin was Character of the Month this January. I've always had a soft spot for him and his family. Another member of this community has already explained (better than I ever could) just why he is so sock-rockingly awesome, so I won't go into that. ;)
I've always thought that Fingolfin needs a bit more fandom love - and in that vein, I began an attempt to write something for this community; in honour of him and his being Character of the Month. The end result did not turn out as well as I might have liked (in terms of it being a tribute), and it is also (ahem) unbetaed, but I wanted to get this in before January was officially over. :)
