Two Announcements: The Archive Now Accepts Podfic *and* the November Newsletter

I post to the group at the beginning of each month, when I post our newsletter, but this month, I have an extra bit of exciting news to report from the SWG moderation team. My comods and I are pleased to announce that we now accept podfics on the SWG archive

Yay, podfic! ...I'd volunteer to be a reader, but it sort of diminishes the stories when they sound like they're being read by what should be a little cartoon girl with big eyes and a gang of animals following her.

Awww ... I hope you'll still consider it! :) When the other mods and I were hashing this out, one truth I think we established is that everyone hates the sound of their own voice! I'm recording what will likely be the SWG's first podfic right now (well ... not right now--that level of multi-tasking is quite beyond me ;), so y'all will all get to hear how awful my voice is and poke fun at the occasional Bal'more accent that might still slip through.

I'm still considering it...one of my friends is supposed to get skype soon, so I'll inflict my voice on her first. Then I get to figure out if I can even pronounce these names right, I'll admit that the pronunciation guides make no sense to me. (Sounds in general don't, I have to just hear the words in order to figure out how to say them right.) I'm listening it right now! You have a nice voice. :D

I took the plunge and put our first podfic up here! :D If you have any specific stories/authors you'd like to hear recorded, just let me know, and I'll get in touch with the author and, if s/he gives permission, will add the story to the list for the Featured Podfic. (We also have a request form here.)

Very nice! I hope to see more in the future. I can't think of anyone I'd especially like to see podfics from right now, but I'll keep that in mind. :)
