Dean and Sam sat on separate beds in the motel room, both silent in their own thoughts. Dean watched his feet while Sam watched his hands. How much more could be said after finding your brother back from the dead and not evil?
Instead they just sat there, waiting for Bobby to call with word on how Pamela was doing after their little seance gone

She found him easily enough, ready to get back to work and take one step closer to Lucifer's reign. She knocked on his door and waited for an answer.

Sam nodded. "Let me check."
Dean wanted to object, but he raised his hands in surrender. Sam got up and grabbed a knife to slide into the back of his jeans and headed for the door.
"Yeah?" He called out.

Sam pulled the door open enough to look out it, but not let her see in..or Dean see out. "Now's not a good time, Ruby," he said.

And came the puppy dog eyes on Sam. He wasn't ready for a confrontation between the three of them yet. "No, nothing. It's just...not the right time."
Dean grabbed onto the door knob and swung the door open, giving Ruby a smirk. "No, it really isn't."

She just stared at Dean for all of two seconds. What the fuck? This sure threw a kink in her plans.
She did recover, however, at least outwardly.
"Dean," she said, face going cold. "Shouldn't you be on the end of something sharp and pointy right now?" Which end she didn't say. She had to feel this out before she went and revealed any sensitive information to Sam.

"You know, I don't know what your problem is. I've done everything I can for him, and for you, and you can't trust me because what? I'm a demon? Funny coming from someone who should be on their way to becoming one. You'd think you'd be a little more understanding after walking a mile in my shoes, or have you conveniently forgotten what they did to you?"
She gave him a look, that subtle look that said I know. Maybe she was pushing too hard with it, but maybe hitting that nerve would work in her advantage. It was a risk, but she was taking it.

He pushed those memories away. He was supposed to hate Ruby. Here, where life was normal and things were supposed to make sense. This is what they did. They argued.
"What do you want?" He asked softly. "We're in the middle of somethin'."

She crossed her arms as she buried any sympathy she may have felt as soon as it rose. Even if their definition of saving the world had been the same, she wouldn't have been able to save him from the fate he'd chosen for himself. He'd chosen it, not her. There was no reason she should care.
"I was coming to tell Sam about the recent demonic uproar. I couldn't find out what it was about." She gave him a once over with her eyes. "But it's pretty obvious now."
