Murphy Arrived This Week
This week Murphy arrived, kicked us in the nads, and ran down the street screaming. I've never had a hard test of my new-found no debt walk until now. Oi.
So, on Saturday my laptop got a glass of champagne dumped on it and hurt my poor baby badly. I use my laptop for writing projects (i.e., my serious hobby that I'm trying to make money at), so we got a portable harddrive to backup the files, which were miraculously recovered, but fixing my laptop's going to cost $755. Buying a new one will cost the same, and it won't be as good, so I'm fixing it.
Today the car's electrical system went batty. Normally I would ignore that, but since this one involves the gauge swinging to empty and then back to normal every 6 seconds, we kind of need to get it fixed/looked at. There's some sort of short somewhere, I think, but we can't find it, so that's going to be more money out of pocket.
Arrrrgh! So thankfully we don't have to pay for the computer for at least a week, but the car is going into the shop tomorrow at 2:30.
Please, dear God, let it be under $350.
