REC:
I'm Crawling On Your Shore by
smithereen "He's not trying to be anyone's dad here." The author started working on this well before the S3 premiere, because apparently they are psychic. (thus, AU elements) Also: This is SO GOOD, y'all. This is that kind of fic where you don't even know you want bittersweet Alaric/Elena until the author gives it to you, and then you're like, "what? I didn't think I wanted Alaric/Elena? WHAT WAS I THINKING? HOW HAVE I BEEN LIVING MY LIFE SO WRONG?" Gorgeous and beautifully characterized. oh, ALARIC. And oh the sweet, it is so deliciously bitter.
REC:
fell in love with being defiant by
ghostrunner7: Some moments from the lost summer. Alaric, Jeremy, Elena. Hints of Alaric/Elena UST. There's this great claustrophobic tone that builds within the words, in their little house, their little fucked up family. I love it.
Go
here for the latest in The Great Delicious Migration. Aja has a link to a Google doc sheet where people are adding themselves and their new bookmarks site address, so we can find each other again.
Plus, more details on how Diigo definitely has some serious censorship issues (response from Diigo to inquiries: "As for bookmarks containing bad/inappropriate words such as sex, porn, sexy in title/description/tag/annotation, our system will convert them to private automatically") + doesn't utilize "/" for tagging, so it looks like the fandom hordes will need to cough up the $10 and buy a Pinboard account. DAMN IT.
I'll keep a backup on Diigo (since I don't even trust Delicious to do that anymore), but I know that I for one wouldn't be able to use it as my main archive without any swearing or naughtiness in my bookmarks. I'm not looking for a family friendly site with bookmarking police.
