delicious hell

Sep 27, 2011 00:32

Please correct me if I'm wrong... but it looks to me like the new Delicious has simply erased the Subscriptions functionality and has replaced my Network with some "following" BS that has been reduced from my 100+ people to... a list of about 10 people? What the fucking FUCK?

And without warning, so I couldn't even back up the list of people to stalk -- if I did want to try to do it manually.

This is an end of an era. I don't even remember how I used to find fic anymore, before my delicious network. *weeps*

Do they have a network and subscriptions on Diigo? Can we all go there?

First world problems. My life, IT HAS CRUMBLED. DDDDDDDDDDd:

Update: It looks like Diigo at least has a Network. Also, it allows you to import all your delicious bookmarks and you can save bookmarks to Diigo & cross-post to delicious. I'm going to try and sign up and see how the cross-posting works.

Update 2: So now I'm trying to find the fannish people on Diigo. In a few minutes I've already tracked many people down. And there's a "group" on Diigo I found that some people are have joined who came from delicious, so that's more people to add to my Network (http://groups.diigo.com/group/delicious-fandom)... I just wish I didn't have to do this, and I know not everyone's there. I hope a lot more people end up transferring.

Update 3: Now I'm hearing that Diigo uses underscores instead of slashes, replacing them automatically upon import (and the new Delicious doesn't recognize slashes at all FUCK). Pinboard uses slashes, but it's $10 and I don't know if fandom will go for that.

Update 4: Apparently Pinboard is very fandom friendly and Diigo has algorithms to make sure you don't have "porn" in any of your links. So... maybe Pinboard is the better bet for us, despite the $10 thing. It's the cost of a pizza. I'll go for it.
