Yes. But you will not entirely stop rolling your eyes at the ridiculousness; you just won't mind so much. [Side note: I was afraid that without_me wouldn't want to watch, that being a Harvard law grad herself in a former life she would find it too painfully bad/wrong. But she tells me the suspension of disbelief is pretty complete. I tell you this to give you courage.]
As to episodes, you should watch #2 anyway because stuff happens that is frequently referenced in fic. And since you like Trevor/Mike/girlfriend. But I don't think the show really hits its stride until later episodes. They go to pains to make Harvey more likeable in #5, for example. But I love every ridiculously gay episode and I think you need to power through until you're charmed.
Fair warning: they never really stop doing that "struck by inspiration in an unrelated conversation" thing, though. People are constantly saying, "That's it!" or "You're a genius!" and then rushing out of rooms to solve problems. It's got drinking game potential.
... and yeah, me too. I didn't watch Suits until We pimped me with the eps, and I'm too lazy/picky to read fic she hasn't delicioused, regardless of fandom. In conclusion: we are all her fandom bitches.
