This ensemble vid is for the rarest of fandoms, but since multiple shows are now in hiatus I thought I’d take the opportunity to pimp a 13 episode series from 2004: Epitafios from HBO Latin-America. I have a big story kink for serial killers, and Bruno Costas the most badass gay serial killer EVER is my faaaaavorite. ♥ Season long case, charismatic killer who runs circles around everyone, and unique setting (Buenos Aires, Argentina). And I like that being brooding and overly emotional doesn’t make our cop magically competent (‘cause I love to root for the bad guys). It’s pretty easy to find with English subs.

I've never had so many drafts for a vid. This one's been in process for a few months now. There are just so many gorgeous images in this macabre series paired with flawed, self-destructive, yearning characters. I searched for weeks to get the right music, and though at first I kept picking these harsh, dark songs... the first moment I heard this one I knew it was what I needed to use. Listening to it, I knew it could capture how at the emotional heart of the series you have these 3 thwarted love stories: Bruno’s stolen love, Renzo & his partner, Renzo & Laura. (and perhaps, in a different way, Marina & her father) And there's this knowledge from the start that there’s no place for heroes and sunsets in a story that starts like this one did.
FYI: The guy with blond spikey hair and the occasionally shirtless guy with curly brown hair? They’re the same dude. What can I say, Bruno's a chameleon. There are like 4 other looks that I didn’t even include, to reduce confusion.
