That was magical, I am so happy. Sort of too consumed with love for all their faces to be coherent, but well pointed out on the symbolism of Pearl and the bloody spoon!

and I love the staging of Damon&Caroline vs. Stefan&Katherine! They give us a scene of both humans waking up in bed with a bitten neck, freaking out, and then follow with the standing vampire approaching as they back into the bedframe. It's not an exact duplication, but the similarity & gender reversal is neeeeeeat. <3!

Yes! The deliberate way they're knocking us off course: not letting the viewer forgive Damon, showing the vampire compulsion has so many terrible echoes, showing Our Hero literally vamped, makes me think, consequences for what Damon did to Caroline, they will come.

Although if Elena was estranged from both Bonnie and Caroline even for a little time, my heart would break!

I love that scene with Elena & Isobel SO MUCH. They're the focal points, and the men there are their agents.

The awesomely confusing thing about Damon is that he's actually pretty good about this kind of shit. He is so comfortable with the idea of a woman being powerful, being able to make the decisions, and also being held responsible for those decisions. (well, it's mostly just confusing when you take how he treats humans or his enemies as indicative of how he would treat PEOPLE. like trying to psychoanalyze someone by their relationship with cows.) Once he begins to see Elena as a real person, he really listens to her and places value in her trust.

[one neat, subtle I liked that I could never work into a vid is the moment when he killed Bree. she took a good shot at him and without Elena would have been successful, and so he couldn't leave her alive after that & killed her-- but he didn't do it in a sexual manner or as a vampire to a human meal; his lips & fangs never touched her body; he tore out her heart instead. Bree was not food to him. She was a person to him, not a human. Gruesome, but the kind of quick & vicious death you give ( ... )

Oh, I really enjoyed that. :) Pearl with the spoon, and Elena with pencils! Those are some of my favorite moments from the show.

GIRL POWER! This certainly made me happy :) There's been so many instances of women being badass in this show and I'm glad you captured that. Great catch on the wooden spoon symbolism!

Totally love the whole Elena/Isobel showdown. The Salvatores just saunter in behind Isobel and Elena's like: take that bi-yotchhh. Hehe. <3
