godspeed, hermes
I hoped I would update today with a tiny picture of a somewhat shaken small tabby cat with white boots, one of which bandaged up, but still cuddly as ever. Not so. :(
Yesterday, hidden in the shade of the hedge, my sister and I found our dog barking at a cat. Thinking it a stray in need of a shelter, we took him inside only to notice how swollen his belly was and how little fuss he made of being taken care of. It was Sunday, so we called the emergency vet who told us to bring him in.
We dubbed him Hermes because of his white legs; the vet said he'd better take him in for the night because he was severely dehydrated, with a broken leg and possible internal organ damage. Surgery was performed on his lacerated bladder and we were told to wait a couple of days. In the morning, however, the vet called and sadly informed us that the 6-month-old cat had had an epileptic fit because his body hadn't been able to take the shock of being run over by some idiot and urine and blood flowing freely in his belly.
I wish I had taken a picture.
That is all. I'll have a Nutella sandwich now.
