Okay, so long story short. I screwed up, big time.
My friend and I, we had this paper due this morning and, predictably, we were rushing through last minute corrections. I was in charge of switching both our works to PDF format, place them on the flashdrive and then my friend would deliver them to the not-so-nice lady with the printer.
My job was simple. Make sure that once printed, the pages would match the requirements our professor had set. In my friend's paper case, it meant adding one blank page before the table of contents page.
And I didn't do it!
I don't know what was going through my mind, but I didn't check, I didn't ask her to check, I didn't ask the lady to check. I just went down the stairs and pushed the print button.
Boy, was she mad at me...
And she's right of course, I was careless and I let her down. I'm ashamed of myself. Which doesn't solve a single thing of course because we already handed both the papers in and the exam is on Tuesday (fingers crossed by the way), but if the professor comes out to reprimand her during her oral I'll stand up and confess. Forgive me, Professor, for I have sinned.
I despise printing recto-verso, that's the reason this whole mess happened and... no, I will not try and justify myself. I messed up, period.
The good thing is, now that I'm through with the bloody paper, I can go back to my fanfiction writing craze! I don't know if any of my readers will see this, but I thought I'd post an extract from next chapter.
“Oh, Greengrass,” the Head Girl had said in response, shaking her hand. “I know your sister Daphne.” She had turned to Draco and smirked. “You lied to me yesterday, you told me she was a Ravenclaw student.”
“I am,” Astoria had interjected with a shade of irritation in her voice and while Draco had glared at Hermione, the Gryffindor girl had had the decency of colouring with embarrassment.
