For once, I have something relatively good to say about my day. :)
I was expected at my supervisor's office this morning, so I woke up at 6 to catch the train and guess who I meet on the platform? Ex-boyfriend, of course. My only side note will be telling you I was the one to dump him in the most horrible way and I regret it every day; but he has a girlfriend now, so he's off-limits. Anyway, that's not the point, the point is... remember my sore throat? Well, to avoid being mute in front of my professor, I had gulped down a tablet of Paracetamol (? That's what Wikipedia says at least, we call it Tachipirina) and it worked perfectly fine all the way to the door of the uni department where the office is.
I even managed to chat animatedly with my friend and fellow student, Nyxviola (REAL LIFE HP FAN!
bombottosa, you must know what I'm talking about, and isn't it amazing?). And then, as soon as I was alone in the waiting room and another student walked in... my voice disappeared! I'm telling you, I could only rasp and choke. Needless to say, I had underestimated the power of a sore throat! But that's where my super-heroine came to the rescue; Nyxviola actually went to buy me cough drops! I couldn't get away from the waiting room, for obvious reasons, and she was such a dear about the whole thing.
It didn't work perfectly, tbh, because I could only speak in a barely audible whisper by the time it was my turn - 12PM if you're wondering... I waited three hours to speak to the guy! - AND my prof commented that I looked even paler than usual, in a not-so-gallant way. Nonetheless, the meeting was a success and next Tuesday we'll be talking more about the two chapters I wrote.
The throat feels only slightly better, but my mood has certainly improved from that other post where all I did was whine. :)
ps.
starduchess, happy birthday! You enjoyed yourself, I hope?
