I was in a car accident!
So, I was going to Padova and I was at the roundabout outside the highway. I was slowing down because I could see a large truck and two cars drawing close; I knew I had a small car in front of me, but I assumed it hadn't decided to stop before going in the roundabout and that I could focus on keeping an eye on the truck. Trucks freak me out, okay? Well, the car didn't continue in the roundabout, it stopped dead in front of me and... well, I'm not sure exactly what happened, but I bumped into it. Hard.
Everything in my car moved forward and I think I hit my head somewhere (the steering wheel?)... I've never been more grateful for seat belts... the right side of my body is a little sore right now, but I'm fine. I really am.
The woman in the other car is a friend of the family, so she came over to me and fussed all over me, asking me if she should bring me back home herself. I told her I was okay, and after getting her number, I went to get my mum.
Mum was sympathetic and supportive, which just makes me feel more guilty about wrecking the car.
We brought my car to a friend's shop (yes, everyone knows everyone around here) and when he said he'll give it back in 4-5 days... I couldn't even look him in the face. I love my Ypsilon, that's the name of the car, Lancia Ypsilon. I'm lucky because it's a very good car, all padded in the right places and tough on the outside. A beauty, I tell you.
I'm going to get an Aspirin now.
ETA: Okay, so it's 2800€ in damages. I'm never going to live this down.
