*gasp*

I almost got up at 11 last night (having been asleep for an unusual hour and a half until woken by my dear mother) to post this, I was that... horrified. Torn apart. But at least now I am slightly more coherent.

Read ahead for the bizarre food analogies...

My first thought was actually of Rose. Ten and Rose go together like, like... treacle sponge and custard! You can have treacle sponge with ice cream or whipped cream or whatever, but it's just not the same! Ten and Rose are my happy, treacle sponge and custard memories of happier times! With Rose gone, DT was the last bit of our fluffy pre-Doomsday world, and now that's going also.

Don't get me wrong. A part of me is pleased DT is leaving, because he's right - he doesn't want to outstay his welcome. He's leaving on a high and now we get all the excitement of who eleven will be!!

It is just sad, because DT was, is such a big part of New Who. 9, Rose, and 10 all link together as the basis of that, and helped usher in the new companions. Would we have loved 10 as much if we did not have Rose? Would we have loved Donna as much without 10? The end of 10 is like the end of an era - like in the Roman Empire, where they had different dynasties, and there were several emperor's in each dynasty, then the dynasty died out and they moved onto a new dynasty. This I feel was like the New Who dynasty, and it will still technically be New Who, but it will be different, older, more experienced or whatever. Even just listening to the contrasts in S4 and S1 music - S1 was like a little baby taking it's first steps. Now we have this whole new thing with eleven and new companions to look forward to (or dread, depending on what your opinion of Moffat is.) With the end of RTD as well... srs sobs will be in order.

At least, though, we got to see 10 and Rose once more. That is unspeakably awesome. SQUEE. And and of COURSE, Rose has her own 10 now - maybe DT will do a little cameo with BP in the distant future? It is the kind of cute thing they would do, as they both love the show so much.

But even if we never see him again, David Tennant really has been quite awesome. Never again will we here the words, "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." the same way. Never again will we see an ear tugged or a neck scratched in quite the same way. Never again will we admire hair so wonderfully ruffle-able (GO FRANKI!). *sigh*

But hey, 5 hours left people!!
