Ok, so I was reading
this interesting article from
Threadbared about "child labour" in fashion and decided to check out 13 year old Tavi Gevinson's
blog, which is mentioned, and it is absolutely FANTASTIC. She's so playful and enthusiastic in everything she writes, and so cultured, it's such a funny read and I got completely carried away.
I do not know what I am doing about fashion this year, how involved I want to be; I think, really, I am so much more about having my own style and I LOVE reading about kooky British style but it is not, often, me. Lately, I have looked in the mirror and been "Oh gosh I've turned into Quinn Fabray", vis a vis my appearance. Which is lovely, as I totally wanted to try that, but I'm definitely... ready to strike out on my own. What I want is to not worry about my clothes, and have fun with colours and prints and styles, but really for them to be practical, because this summer I want to be running about and flopping on grass and you honestly cannot do that in ethereal fairy dresses. So really, I'm getting more into a couple of fashion blogs and I love my Vogue subscription, but I'm finding my own way with my clothes, my own style that works for me, which really is what I believe fashion should be about.
