These pictures of people in Haiti receiving food and aid sent shivers down my spine. These people's bravery and strength amazes me. They keep carrying on, determindely.

this man, Hédi Annabi, I am very inspired by. He was the former Head of Peacekeeping at the UN (my dream job) and since 2007 was the Head of the UN Stabilization Mission in Haiti, and died in the earthquake on 12th January. The UN was his life, and he was described as having, "in every sense of the word, giving his life for peace". I was quiet for the rest of the day after reading about that. Death has never seemed to real to me as it does for this man, his UN and Haiti colleagues, and the ordinary Haitians themselves. I think it's because someday those could be people I'm working to help, people I'm working with, me.
