I don't know; these are supposed to be our homes, and yet they just came barreling in like wild men.

I can say for certain that this place is not my home, but at the very least they could show us some courtesy and knock.

It's not my true one, either, but I suppose it's the best we can do. I'd much prefer to live outside, though.

I seem to be doing fine. The shot seems to have had not ill affects as of yet.

I wandered out the first chance I got. Though I've never had to go to this "school" before, it's a pretty interesting way to go about the town.

Well, Thayet- the queen of Tortall- had just instituted them there. But in Galla, where I came from, we didn't have regulated things like that. Ma taught me all I know.

Yes, and Numair- my teacher, he's here as my fake father- too. We've both adopted it as a kind of home. At least, until we came here.

It's...fair wonderful. All the royalty are just like real people, and those who are famous aren't really different at all. You get the feeling that you could be anyone there. There's a chance that you could change the world.

Where do you come from?

The kingdom of Ingary. It seems quite similar to your own land. Do you have magic in your world?

Oh yes! Not a lot of people have huge Gifts, but there are a fair many who have wild magic, or the Sight. Are you a mage?

Yes, though we tend to use the titles of witch and wizard here.

Are you one as well?

I see. We generally just use mage. Or hedgewitch, but only for those that only have a spark of the Gift.
