Teh power of boredom.

melus is currently away from home/icq, trekking the vast ancient forests of wherever, having a great time, with the exception of abundant mosquitoes and dog-flatulence, or so I was told during one of her brief returns to civilization.

Normally the two of us will spend every evening RPing, so with her gone for a few days, I suddenly find myself with lots of time on my hands.
Last night I went to see a movie (HP3, despite my dire pledge I'd boycott it, and it was just as terrible as I'd imagined, though the effects and settings were pretty to look at at times)
Today I didn't really have anything to do. I don't even have my TV at home at the moment - my younger brother borrowed it a few weeks ago.
So, I'm facing the terrible fate of being bored enough to actually get things done.

I checked that paint-thing with the landlord yesterday (not that it did me any good, but still). I've managed to get some extra work-hours into my schedule, which is good by the time the paycheck arrives. I did the dishes(!). I even got new bags for the vacuum-cleaner, so I can clean the flat a bit tomorrow.
I also managed to be creative. Teh power of boredom is a great natural force indeed.

Those among you who have croaky on their friends list may remember this picture; the sketch for it was posted in her LJ a few days ago.
I told her I love her concept of Bitch!Kyuubi, and that I'd love to see this sketch colored. Croaky hollowly informed me the sketch was possessed by evil, and that color was not likely to happen. I pointed out that I wouldn't mind at all doing the coloring, if she would let me, whereupon she promptly and happily threw the sketch at me and told me to get started. Or something along those lines.

After some days of being busy/procrastinating, I finally managed to get it done, and rather like how the coloring turned out. croaky's sketches are so wonderfully dynamic and clean, it's pure joy to color.
So, since she's great at composition, anatomy and other such terrifying things, and since I like to color, we make a good artistic team.
We should do collabs more often...
