Today was a somewhat better day.
I sat up until 6 last morning, finally hammering out some of the writing I had to to. It's sucky, but at least now I have a text to work with, which is a big load off my shoulders.
Today I lazed about and did pretty much nothing. Poor Chi was working late, so I surprised her with yummy dinner when she came home, complete with macadamia apple crisp for dessert. It was very delicious. I'll have to write the recipe down; I'll probably want to make it again. >.>
Actually, might as well...
Macadamia apple-crisp
4 servings. Bake at 375°F / 200°C
1 cup Macadamia nuts, preferably salted
1 cup rolled oats (the small, chewy "fiber" kind of flakes are better than the usual kind)
1/4 cup brown sugar (actually I have no idea how much I used. "A bit"..? You can always start out small and sample the batter as you go along to see if you want to add more, or add some sweetener or white sugar if you want a sweeter crisp.)
Butter or margarine (I have no idea how much melted butter I had in there... half a cup? Amount depends whether you want the crust crunchy or chewy.)
Cinnamon and cardamom - I love both, so I use a lot, but just a pinch might do.
About 4-5 apples (Ingrid Marie, baby ♥)
Slice the apples (peel them first if you can be bothered), powder with cinnamon and spread evenly in a baking dish.
Chop the nuts to smaller bits and mix with oats, sugar and spices in a bowl.
Add the melted butter and mix stuff about until it's a nice and sticky mass. Spread said mass over the apples.
Bake the entire thing until the apples are soft and the crisp is... crispy. About 30 - 45 minutes.
Serve with whipped cream, vanilla custard or ice cream.
Oh yeah.
Anyways, as for today's artistic creativity. Managed to whip muses somewhat back in shape and actually drew something half-inspired. ^^
Nuru-kiin.
Click for full-view The scare-crow-like Nuru-kiin is one of the mystical genii of the Gate of Mists universe.

Our poor heroes get their butts verily kicked. In the end, Alaeitha manages to overrule Aidis' mastery over their would-be-killer, and when given a free choice, Nuru-kiin opts to follow the good-guys to see what'll happen because she's bored take a stand against the aspiring new lord of Death.
Nuru is muchly kickass, and rather creepy in all her bony, ragged glory.
For whatever reason, I know exactly how she smells; dusty, like a library of old books or a fur-coat that's been in a sunny but stale attic for years. Not unpleasant, just... dusty.
I like her. ^_^
